The high-level segment of the Energy for All: financing access for the poor conference hosted by the Government of Norway in cooperation with the International Energy Agency (IEA) took place in Oslo on 10 October 2011. It convened a broad range of stakeholders including the UN Secretary-General, heads of government, government ministers, and representatives of international organisations, the public and private sectors, financial institutions, civil society and academia. The conference examined ways of mobilising sufficient financial resources to achieve access to energy for all by 2030. Prof. Abeeku Brew-Hammond Passes On It is with great pain and grief that we announce the sudden and untimely demise of our beloved Prof. Abeeku Brew-Hammond. The sad event happened on Monday, March 25, 2013 in London, UK where he had gone for a routine medical review. Prof. Abeeku Brew-Hammond was the founder and first Executive Director of KITE from inception until 2004 when he left to take up the position of the first Manager for the Global Village Energy Partnership (GVEP) in the UK. Until his death, Abeeku was an Associate Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, KNUST and also doubled as the Director of the Energy Centre (TEC), in the same University. He is survived by his wife, Aba Brew-Hammond and 3 children – Ebow, Kobby and Rabbie.
